We’re inspired by a form of Bolivian architecture that’s full of life, color and history, and we want to share it with you. They’re called “cholets” - a word blended from “chalet “(“large house”) and “chola” (“indigenous woman.”)
They can be found high in the Bolivian plateau in the city of El Alto. They are the product of the mind and creativity of architect Freddy Mamani, who is transforming an otherwise dull cityscape with his work.
Learn more about the Neo-Andean architecture in the Cholets episode of Life is a Circus.
