Las Vegas is celebrated for its shows, casinos and night life, as everyone knows. But there’s another side to the city that will interest art lovers from everywhere. From traditional museums and galleries to more edgy exhibitions and installations, Las Vegas has something for every taste.
Lovers of more traditional museums will enjoy the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art at the Bellagio Hotel, the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art, or the Las Vegas Art Museum. Fine art galleries are many, and include the William Carr Gallery, the Gallery at ARIA, Basner Fine Art and Kush Fine Art.
Vegas, of course, is a city with an edge, and it has venues to match. There’s the Mob Museum, lately featuring mural art. The Neon Museum lives up to its name and credo: “history, brought to light.” The Whitney Library features exhibitions inspired by pop culture, such as “Time Out for Tears,” a series of paintings based on episodes of TV’s The Bachelor and The Bachelorette.
Art is literally everywhere in Las Vegas, beyond museums, galleries and libraries. Regular immersive exhibitions such as 2023’s Arcadia Earth can be found in places like Jouvence Eternelle on the strip. The Arts District on Main Street features leading-edge installations by artists like Recycled Propaganda.
So, come to Vegas for the fun. But stay for the art.
