Our Worldwide Circus Celebration

World Circus Day is an internationally recognized celebration of the circus arts that has taken place every year on the third Saturday of April since its inception in 2010.

Despite this event being relatively young, the circus arts have been a major entertainment source since the ancient Roman period. In fact, the term "circus" comes from the Latin word for "circle", as a nod to the circle-shaped amphitheaters in which people would perform back then.

Today's circus acts look very different from those of days past. Cirque du Soleil continues to push the boundaries of circus arts, and we humbly invite you to join us on this journey. Let us know what the circus means to you!
