Halloween is all about making an entrance. And when Megan Thee Stallion arrived at Hottieween 2026, she did just that.
For this year's highly anticipated Halloween celebration at Zouk Nightclub at Resorts World Las Vegas, the three-time Grammy Award-winning artist teamed up with Cirque du Soleil to create a custom Halloween costume unlike anything guests had seen before. More than just a costume, the creation was an elaborate performance in its own right, combining imaginative design, incredible craftsmanship and live entertainment into one unforgettable arrival.
The result? A larger-than-life pumpkin-inspired look that transformed right before the crowd's eyes.
A Costume That Was Made to Perform
Designed specifically for Megan's Hottieween celebration, the custom costume was created to evolve throughout the evening. The look unfolded in three stages, beginning with a dramatic arrival featuring an oversized origami pumpkin skirt before transforming into a party-ready ensemble.
But the reveal was about much more than the costume itself.
The evening opened with a four-minute Cirque du Soleil performance featuring four performers in striped costumes and red masks. Their act brought together breaking, capoeira, gliding, contortion and diabolo, setting the stage for Megan's entrance.
As her music dropped, Megan was rolled onto the stage in the towering pumpkin costume. Following her introduction to the crowd, the performers pulled apart the giant pumpkin skirt on her cue, revealing her second look and completing the transformation.
It was a moment that brought together the theatrical spectacle of Cirque du Soleil with Megan's unmistakable style and larger-than-life approach to Halloween.
Meet the Cirque du Soleil Artists Behind the Performance
The performance brought together four extraordinary artists from three of Cirque du Soleil's resident Las Vegas productions, each contributing a unique discipline to the four-minute act.
- Fabiano “Neguin” Carvalho Lopes (Brazil) – A b-boy and capoeira artist from KÀ, bringing explosive movement and acrobatic precision to the performance.
- Amaleke Shakur “Kidd The Monster” Bradley (USA) – A glider from Michael Jackson ONE, known for movement that challenges the boundaries of what seems physically possible.
- Chih-Han Chao (Taiwan) – A diabolo artist from Michael Jackson ONE, incorporating remarkable coordination and object manipulation.
- Oldokh “Oggy” Ganbold (Mongolia) – A contortionist from “O”, bringing extraordinary flexibility and control to the stage.
Choreographed by Tiffany Baker, the performance showcased the diversity of artistic disciplines that make Cirque du Soleil productions so distinctive, bringing together artists from different backgrounds and creative worlds for one special occasion.
The Craftsmanship Behind the Custom Halloween Costume
Creating a costume of this scale required an extraordinary level of detail, collaboration and technical expertise.
Led by Creative Director Gabriel Dubé-Dupuis and costume designer Miodrag “Mio” Guberinic, Cirque du Soleil's creative team brought the concept to life with the help of 23 artists, artisans and specialized fabricators.
The team invested more than 700 hours into designing and building a costume that was as technically impressive as it was visually striking.
A closer look at the details reveals just how much went into the creation:
- More than 50 yards of fabric went into the custom design.
- 120 individually patterned pieces came together to create an accordion sleeve featuring more than 250 individual components.
- 12 oversized origami pumpkin panels, each nearly six feet tall, formed the dramatic skirt, using more than 400 square feet of custom-printed and hand-painted material.
- 13 custom 3D-modeled and 3D-printed jester embellishments added another layer of personality to the design.
- More than 50 magnets allowed the pumpkin skirt to separate into four sections, making the live transformation possible.
Every element was carefully considered to ensure the costume could do more than make a statement. It had to move, transform and become part of the performance.
Bringing Two Creative Worlds Together
For Cirque du Soleil, the collaboration was an opportunity to bring its expertise in costume design, live performance and theatrical storytelling into a completely different setting.
“Hottieween is Megan’s world, and she has made Halloween a signature part of her creative identity, turning her annual celebrations into highly anticipated cultural moments. Our job was to bring a bit of Cirque du Soleil creativity into it,” said Gabriel Dubé-Dupuis, Creative Director at Cirque du Soleil.
“Megan doesn’t do anything halfway, so it was very exciting to work with her. We designed the whole moment, not just the look: the arrival, the performers around her, and a costume that performs as part of the act.”
For Megan, the collaboration brought an entirely new dimension to her annual Halloween celebration.
“Working with Cirque du Soleil on this year’s Hottieween costume was such an amazing experience. The amount of preparation, creativity and attention to detail that went into bringing everything to life was incredible. It was the perfect way to set the tone for another unforgettable Hottieween celebration,” said Megan Thee Stallion.
