Cirque du Soleil will be showing off some of its best short and long-form film work at a special screening at the Festival International du Film sur L’Art (FIFA) on March 21st.
Cirque often turns to other media to continue to tell its stories, to imagine, and to explore how it can live on other stages, in other dimensions and in other forms. This includes the cinema.
The festival will screen four selections from Cirque du Soleil, a program it’s calling Carte Blanche: Cirque du Soleil – Montréal:
- Cirque Raw, a collection of raw and minimalist performances that spotlight the pure beauty of circus arts.
- ECHO Prologue, a short film about “the story before the story.” What would a Cirque show universe look like in a real-life setting? This is the prequel to the new Cirque du Soleil show ECHO. It’s a human journey to an amazing adventure called ECHO.
- Life is a Circus, a series of short films inspired by the places, people, moments and fans that make Cirque du Soleil unique.
- And, finally, a chance to see "O", Cirque du Soleil’s hallmark Las Vegas production, in its entirety on the big screen.
Carte-Blanche: Cirque du Soleil – Montréal plays from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Theatre Outremont in Montréal on March 21st, as part of FIFA.
