Things to do in Riviera Maya

Cirque du Soleil Dream Escape at Vidanta Riviera Maya: Our Family’s Magical Adventure

With two little ones in tow, finding a vacation that balances fun, relaxation, and convenience is no small feat.

When we first learned about Cirque du Soleil’s Dream Escape vacation package , we couldn’t wait to try it. Between the promise of a dazzling live show, a luxury stay, and plenty of family-friendly activities, it sounded like the perfect tropical vacation for our family of four. The package didn’t just meet our expectations—it went above and beyond.

With two little ones in tow, finding a vacation that balances fun, relaxation, and convenience is no small feat. VidantaWorld Riviera Maya delivered all that and more. Here’s a breakdown of what made this trip so special for our family.

A Night of Wonder: Cirque du Soleil and Dinner

The highlight of our Dream Escape was, of course, the Cirque du Soleil experience. From the moment we walked into the theater, we felt the magic in the air. The stage setup was mesmerizing, and it was a bonus that we could enjoy it just as a couple (they have babysitting services on-site). Cirque du Soleil is at the center of all the action during the stay, from meet and greet events with the cast and crew, to backstage access during your stay and fitness classes with the world-class athletes who are part of the show, all of this, part of the Dream Escape package.

Before the show, we were treated to an incredible pre-show dinner. Sat in our VIP Experience premium seats, we were offered wonderful appetizers and some Champagne! Picture this: multiple courses of gourmet food, each dish a little masterpiece. I consider myself a picky eater, but even I admit it; the food was excellent!

The appetizers and desserts are part of a set menu, but you are given a couple of options for your main course. Steve went with the beef option, and I chose the quinoa dish. Not only did everything taste fantastic, the whole thing was experienced as things you wouldn’t expect to be edible (like the menu) were indeed something you could eat!

When the show started, it felt like we’d entered another world. The acrobatics, music, and storytelling completely captivated all of us. The show was over an hour-long, but it felt like it went by way too fast. Steve and I could’ve stayed and watched the artists perform for hours because of the great entertainment they provided. This is a must-see on your next vacation to Riviera Maya, Mexico!

Please note that children ages 3 and up do require tickets. Keep in mind that the show runs for 80 minutes without an intermission and features high-decibel music and flashing lights, making it unsuitable for children under 3 years old.

Our Stay at the Jungala Park Hotel

We spent three nights at the new Jungala Park Hotel, and honestly, it felt like an oasis. The one-bedroom suite, with a comfortable king-sized bed, was perfect for two adults and would easily accommodate up to 4 children. The room was spacious and modern, and we loved having a balcony where we could unwind after the kids went to bed. It was also so convenient being right inside VidantaWorld, close to all the action.

One of the best perks of staying at Jungala was having access to all the pools on the property. We spent a lot of time at the Grand Luxxe pool, which was spacious, quiet, and luxurious. It quickly became one of our favorite spots (especially since it was right on the beach). The kids loved splashing around, and we loved the comfortable loungers and poolside service (make sure to order from The Burger Custom Made while you’re hanging at this pool!)

Having little ones, we appreciated how family-friendly the resort was. The staff were incredibly kind to our kids, always greeting them with smiles and helping us with anything we needed.

Fun for All at Jungala Aqua Experience

If you have kids (or are just a kid at heart), you’re going to love Jungala Aqua Experience. We spent an entire day there, and it was pure fun from start to finish. There were water slides for the thrill-seekers (my husband braved those), a wave pool the kids couldn’t get enough of, and the lazy river, which was everyone’s favorite, is the longest in Latin America. Floating through the lush scenery felt so peaceful—it was the perfect way to relax. I think this is the most water slides my toddler has enjoyed out of every aquatic park we’ve ever visited.

We also had access to a VIP cabana for the day, which was part of the Dream Escape package. It gave us a private spot to relax, and the kids could nap there in between all the water fun. The cabana service was amazing, with drinks and snacks brought right to us whenever we needed them.

Dining Delights for the Whole Family

Food is such a big part of any vacation for us, and VidantaWorld didn’t disappoint. There’s a huge variety of dining options, so even our picky eaters were happy.

  • Breakfast Stops:
    • Del Lago was our go-to for breakfast buffets. They had everything from fresh pastries to made-to-order omelets. The kids especially loved the pancakes with all the toppings. Daily access to the buffet is included in your stay with the Dream Escape package.
    • At Green Break, we found delicious options like a traditional American breakfast or simply a pastry and fruit platter. It was a great spot for a quick, healthy breakfast.
  • Lunch at The Burger Custom Made: Burgers are always a hit with our family, and this place didn’t disappoint. You can customize your burger however you like, and the kids were thrilled with their chicken strips and fries.
  • Dinner at Salum Beachside Eateries and Market: This area was so fun to explore! It’s like a vibrant little village with food stands and restaurants offering all kinds of delicious bites. The kids loved picking out desserts, while we enjoyed fresh Mexican food and drinks.

Relaxation at Spatium Spa

Steve and I escaped to the Spatium Spa for a couples massage and let me tell you—this was two hours of pure bliss.

The spa itself is stunning, with tranquil vibes that instantly relax you. The massage therapists were incredible, working out all the tension we didn’t even know we had. Afterward, we enjoyed the spa’s hydrotherapy area, which was the perfect way to finish our session.

If you’re traveling with kids, I highly recommend finding time for a little spa break. It’s such a treat to recharge and enjoy some quiet time.

A Day of Luxury at The Beach Club

Another excellent day was spent at The Beach Club. Having a private cabana made everything so easy—we had a shady spot to relax, and it was close to both the pools and the beach. VIP Beach Club access really came in handy thanks to the Dream Escape package!

The kids loved the pool area, splashing around and making new friends, while we enjoyed lounging with drinks in hand. When we needed a change of scenery, we took a short walk to the beach, where the kids built sandcastles while we soaked up the sun.

The staff here went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. It was the perfect mix of luxury and family fun.

Final Thoughts

Our time at VidantaWorld Riviera Maya with the Cirque du Soleil Dream Escape package was nothing short of magical. Whether we were watching the incredible show, exploring the Jungala Aqua Experience, or relaxing by the pool, every moment felt thoughtfully designed to be unforgettable.

If you’re looking for a family-friendly destination that combines adventure, luxury, and entertainment, this is it. From toddlers to grown-ups, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’re already dreaming about going back!
