Cirque du Soleil's Love Song to Country Music
We're thrilled to unveil our latest creation, Songblazers – A Journey into Country Music. In something unprecedented, we're collaborating with Universal Music Group Nashville to bring to the stage soul-stirring melodies of beloved country legends and contemporary stars. Imagine the heart and soul of country music, intertwined with Cirque's signature acrobatic feats, all wrapped up in bling, confidence, and irreverence.
Drawing inspiration from the rich legacy of country music, Songblazers pays homage to the legendary trailblazers of the past while embracing the vibrant talents of contemporary artists. Blending daring acrobatics, extraordinary acts, and reimagined iconic country songs, this immersive experience celebrates the diverse influences of country music.
To top it all off, we’re proud to announce a collaboration with Sam Williams, a contemporary country artist, grandson of country pioneer Hank Williams and the son of outlaw legend Hank Jr. For Songblazers, he composed an original song, written in his own singular style. Fusing gut-wrenching honesty and plainspoken poetics with raw vulnerability and deep empathy, CARNIVAL HEART, is inspired by a personal yearning of self-discovery, friendship, and hope.
Williams wrote the spellbinding new song with fellow songwriters PJ Harding and Ned Houston.
From a Nashville Premiere to a Nationwide Tour
The curtain will rise in Nashville, come premiere night on July 2nd, 2024. We’ll be making ourselves right at home at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center® . What a setting for a show of epic proportions! But the rodeo doesn't stop there. We'll be packing up our cowboy boots to bring this unique celebration of country music to other cities across the U.S. starting with Sugar Land, TX on August 1st.
